Prof.R.G.Sastry's Talk - Apr.22

Sathya Sai devotees all over the world observe 24th April as the day our loving Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, left His physical form and continues to shower His love as our eternal companion. Each year, during this time period, devotees honor His life and legacy by remembering Him and practicing His teachings.

With Swami's Grace, to commemorate the 7th Anniversary of Swami’s Maha Samadhi, we are fortunate to have Prof. R. Gangadhara Sastry visit Bridgewater Sai Center and give us a talk. Prof. R. Gangadhara Sastry is serving as an Honorary Professor at the Department of Political Science, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

Prof. R. Gangadhara was chosen by Bhagawan Himself to join as the first staff member in the erstwhile Sri Sathya Sai Arts, Science and Commerce College, as it was known in the year of its establishment in 1979 at Prasanthi Nilayam.

He was then absorbed into the Sri Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Learning, (Deemed To Be University), in the year 1981 and continued to serve Bhagawan. He obtained his M.A. in Political Science, from Andhra University. He then did his M. Phil. in History & Archaeology from Nagarjuna University. Later, at the insistence of Bhagawan Baba, he earned a Doctoral Degree in Public Administration on the topic of “Administrative Relations Between the Centre and States in India” at Osmania University.


At Prasanthi Nilayam, he served as the Director of the Campus; as a Member of the Academic Council of the University; and as Chairperson of the Board of Studies. He has written many articles on academic and spiritual topics which have been published in reputable journals in English and Telugu.

Prof. Sastry has been an ardent devotee of Swami for almost four decades and has had many interactions with Bhagawan. He will share with us the Divine lessons he has learned and the blissful experiences he has had in the Lord’s Presence.

Maha Aradhana 30-day Sadhana

Sairam,

With prayers at the Divine Lotus Feet of our most beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Region 2 (Mid Atlantic Region) will offer a 30-day Spiritual Discipline (Sadhana) Program, from April 1st to 30th, to observe the 7th Anniversary of Swami's Maha Samadhi (April 24th).

We will start the Sadhana on Easter Sunday, April 1st which celebrates the Resurrection of Christ and the Omnipresence of our Sai Avatar.

It was on the Easter Sunday, April 24th of 2011 that our beloved Lord chose to withdraw from His physical form and attain Maha Samadhi. Every year, this time period is an opportunity for us to reflect on His teachings and rededicate our lives to Him with all our heart, mind and soul.
